Coats for Kids crafting, scrapbooking benefit

LEWISTON — Knights of Columbus Council 106 will sponsor a Coats for Kids paper crafting and scrapbooking benefit from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Holy Family Church hall on Sabattus Street. 

Proceeds will benefit the Coats for Kids Fund, and the cost will be $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Spots paid in advance must be paid for by Saturday, Sept. 1 by mailing a check payable to KC 106, to James Sutton, P.O. Box 1622, Lewiston, ME 04241-1622.

Corinne Saindon will host the event. There will be beverages, snacks, drawings and make-and-take crafts. 

The next scrapbooking event will be Feb. 2, 2019.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors 5K

LISBON — Lisbon United Methodist Church is looking for runners and walkers to support their third annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors 5K event on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 14 School St. 

Check-in and same-day registration for the timed event begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race starting at 8:30 a.m. Registration is now open, and all registrants entered by Friday, Aug. 31, will receive an event T-shirt. The benefit event will take place rain or shine.

The entry fee is $25 per person payable by check or PayPal. All proceeds will be donated to Lisbon Area Christian Outreach (LACO) Food Bank and Tedford Shelter’s “Warm Thy Neighbor” program. The two previous events have raised nearly $4,000 to help neighbors in need.
