During her tenure as a Lewiston City Councilor, Kristen Cloutier has been a strong advocate for many public health issues. As a member of the Lewiston Area Public Health Committee, she has worked alongside other community leaders to advocate for lead paint prevention. With Lewiston-Auburn having the highest lead poisoning rate in the state, it is an urgent matter, and Cloutier has been a strong supporter of efforts to reduce poisoning rates and supporting safe housing for all community members.

Because of her strong voice with public health issues, she was recognized with Healthy Androscoggin’s Leadership Award in 2014.

She has also advocated for transportation safety, collaborating to organize public forums after pedestrian deaths impacted her community, working to ensure all are able to safely transport themselves throughout the city.

I hope others will join me in voting for Kristen Cloutier in November for the health of this community.

Kristine Kittridge, Lewiston
