AUBURN — Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Perry Wilson, 66, passed in peace in Auburn at Androscoggin Hospice House on Sunday, Aug. 12, surrounded by love. Betty fought a short, courageous battle during her second round of cancer.

She was the daughter of Ernest Joseph Perry Sr. and Marlene Haskell, arriving unexpectedly three months early Sept. 15,1952, at her grandparents Gladys Thurlow Haskell and William Stanley Haskell’s home in Oxford. After spending three months at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, she spent her childhood in Norway. Before entering high school, she moved with her family to Kennebunk. Betty was proud to be a Kennebunk Ram, graduating high school in 1970. She then attended Pulse Grey Business School in Portland, graduating in 1972 with a degree as a medical secretary.

Betty worked at Henley Kimball Co. in Portland in the billing department, then changing her career to the medical field at Ledgeview Nursing Home in West Paris, working in the business office and enjoying patient interactions. In 1977 she started work as a medical transcriptionist at Stephens Memorial Hospital, where she finished her career after 39 years as a medical billing coder.

Betty has spent the majority of her 35-year marriage to Gary W. Wilson in Harrison, where she enjoyed her home, the trees, her flowering plants and her many furry babies. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, shopping, taking care of her many furry babies and trips to the ocean, especially Kennebunk Beach. She loved all seafood, especially lobster and fried clams.

She is survived her husband, Gary W. Wilson; sadly missed by her sister, Debra Ann Perry Dufault; nephew, Matthew Daniel Dufault; niece, Desiree Danielle Dufault Michaud, and her family; and niece, Melissa Elizabeth Dufault.
