AUBURN — Shirley Mae Cobbler, 86, died Monday, July 23, at the Hospice House in Auburn. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born in San Rafael, Calif. She was educated in San Rafael before moving to Auburn. Shirley worked many years as a certified nursing assistant in California and on Cape Cod. She loved her work and enjoyed each day until she retired. In retirement, her interests was spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest love was to cook for her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Eugene Cobbler.

She was survived by her sons Robert Cobbler of Redding, Calif., and David Cobbler of Sacramento, Calif; her two daughters Katherine Herbert of Auburn and Pamela Allen of Yuba City, Calif.; her grandchildren, Wade Cobbler of Redding, Calif.; Brian Cobbler of Redding, Calif., Kaitlin Herbert of Watertown, Mass.; Anna Herbert of Plymouth, Vt.; and Kyle Herbert of Auburn.
