Rev. Calder leading revival meetings
AUBURN — The Rev. Wendell Calder will hold evangelistic/revival meetings at the Marston’s Corner Baptist Church, 752 Beech Hill Road, from Aug. 24 to 26.
The Friday service will begin at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday service at 6 p.m.; and Sunday services begin with Sunday School at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. service.
Calder is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute and has served in the pastorate for more than 16 years. In 1970, he founded the Living Waters Bible Conference for adults and youth and served as director for 20 years.
Calder founded Local Church Evangelism in 1975 and he and his wife, Joan, have served in that ministry since 1990.
Calder has conducted Crusades throughout the U.S., Canada and other countries.
Danville Grange variety show
AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will hold a variety show at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, to raise money to pay for its newly renovated hall at 15 Grange St.
Admission is $4. There will also be a basket raffle, 50/50 drawing and slices of pie for sale at intermission.
The lineup includes comedy acts, musical selections, lip syncs, skits and maybe a few jokes and poems.
Those who wish to donate to the hall expenses may go to gofundme.com/danvillegrange65. Tax-deductible donations may also be sent to the Maine State Grange Foundation, 146 State St., Augusta, ME 04330, earmarked for Danville Jct. Grange No. 65.
