With the debt clock ticking away, it seems like no one is watching it. America is $20 trillion in the hole, but lawmakers in Washington, D.C., keeps spending more money.
While the federal government keeps spending, Maine keeps having surpluses. One of the reasons for the surpluses is Sen. Brakey. He fought to stop useless spending in Augusta. As chair of the Health and Human Services committee, he saved money by reforming welfare, fixing Medicaid and brought in more tax revenue from the sale of cannabis.
Brakey plans to bring those same principles to Washington, D.C. That is why Mainers need to support him. With the nation $20 trillion in debt, the clock is ticking.
