It’s a short, holiday-week mini-Buzz with one happening and one maybe-happening.
On Thursday, Travis Dow will host the new Maine Business to Business Trade Show at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.
It’s open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and entry is free with a business card. Dow has 60 vendors coming from around the state in industries such as payroll, banking, insurance and health care.
In center court, Mad Monkey Media will have a live vehicle wrap demo to show how that process works. Also, Lisa DeSisto, CEO of Sun Media and Maine Today Media, will speak at a VIP luncheon on the future of newspapers.
“A lot of businesses are getting into the time of year where they’re thinking about next year, and that’s when the planning is happening, in September and October,” Dow said. “People are planning out their marketing, they’re planning out their expansion, they’re forecasting their work for the spring. It’s really a good time to come and meet some people that you may not be doing business with that you could either get quotes from in the future to lower costs for your business or add on a new aspect for your business.”
He’s estimating 1,000 attendees.
Dow, the former organizer of the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council’s Maine B2B Trade Show, announced earlier this year he’d be putting together his own show after the LAEGC became part of the local chamber and the chamber created its own event.

Abutters near 420 Main St. in Lewiston are having a hearing Wednesday for the city to get input on any concerns with potential traffic pattern changes in that area.
David Hediger, director of planning and code enforcement, said the owner of the Dunkin’ Donuts across from Central Maine Medical Center may be interested in building a new Dunkin’ at that site, currently a vacant lot.
“Nothing specific has been provided at this time,” said Hediger. If a building were to go up, “a center turn lane will be needed to accommodate left turn lanes into the site.”
The site is on the same side of Main Street as CMMC, a few cross streets north, at Main and Whipple streets.
Hediger said it was his understanding that it would replace the Dunkin’ across from CMMC.
The franchise owner, Norm Boulay, said last winter that he was planning to knock that building down and start from scratch later this year.
