I am writing to support Ned Claxton for Maine Senate District 20 (New Gloucester, Poland, Minot and Auburn). As a long-time resident of the area, I know he is respected for his honesty, openness and ability to bring people together. However, I am most enthusiastic about his support of education at all levels.
Claxton will work to stabilize school funding, rather than leave districts guessing each year. He will assure that state funding is equitable for small and large communities. He fully understands that skilled workers are vital to the future of Maine economy. He speaks regularly about the need for more vocational education, especially apprenticeships and business and school partnerships. He will do everything he can to assure that Maine has opportunities for young people who want to stay in Maine and for workers who need retraining.
A vote for Ned Claxton is a vote for Maine’s future.
