AUBURN — Robert Parker Nason, 90, of Auburn passed away at his home Tuesday, Sept. 4, with his family following a short illness.

He was born in Auburn on Aug. 1, 1928, a son of the late John Willis and Gladys Elizabeth (Parker) Nason. He grew up in the Auburn area and attended local schools. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1946. After high school, he worked as a projectionist at The Auburn Theater and also at Cities Service Center on the Maine Turnpike.

When he returned home to Maine from his service in the military, he worked at the Empire Theater in Lewiston, then worked for 25 years at Eastern Air Lines in Boston and Orlando. Bob received many merit awards at the airlines over the years for his excellent customer service and compassion for traveling families and their needs.

Bob married the late Theresa Louise (Kane) Nason on May 20, 1954. His love of family was his foremost passion. He never missed his grandsons’ baseball, soccer and hockey games. Everyone at their games knew him as “Grampie.” Bob traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe with his family and enjoyed teaching his children about different states, countries and people. The newest light of his life was his great-granddaughter, Emily.
