FARMINGTON — A cookbook brimming with delectable apple recipes collected from members of local homemaker extension groups is available at Morrison Hill Apple Orchard, 272 Morrison Hill Rd.
Hazel Flagg, president of the Wilton Day Homemakers Extension said “An Apple A Day” contains more than 300 apple recipes. The majority of the recipes were submitted by members of the Wilton group, she said. Members of other Franklin County Homemakers Extension groups also submitted recipes.
“Funds raised through the sale of the book will be distributed to community service projects in Wilton,”said Flagg.
These projects include the Wilton Area Food Pantry and Theresa’s Totes, a weekend meal program for children. Academy Hill and G.D. Cushing elementary schools will also benefit from the proceeds, Flagg said.
Cookbooks will also be available for purchase on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Farmington Fair and at upcoming craft fairs, Flagg said.
Wilton Day Homemakers Extension meets at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 59 High St., Wilton. For more information about the group or to purchase a cookbook, call Flagg at 645-2423.
