NORWAY — Jill M. Moffett, 64, of South Paris died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 16, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.
She was born on Sept. 29, 1953, in Rumford, a daughter of Ferroll P. and Marie E. (Corrigan) Witter. She attended Bethel schools, graduating from Telstar High School.
Jill married James Moffett in Portland on Feb. 19, 1972.
As a young woman, she worked at the Bethel Inn for several years as a cook for breakfast and lunch. She later sold insurance and in retirement worked in the kitchen at the Market Square Health Care Center.
Jill enjoyed gardening and the company of her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, of South Paris; children, Andrew Moffett and his wife, Dawn, of North Berwick and Darcy Moffett of Sanford; grandsons, Brandon James and Seamus Foley; great-grandchildren, Peyton and “Little Seamus”; a sister, Glynda Flynn, and her husband, James, of Gilead. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Crystle and Ruth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris St., Norway. Interment will follow at the Pulpit Rock Cemetery in Waterford. Arrangements are in the care of the Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
