FARMINGTON — A local woman was injured Thursday when the vehicle she was driving crossed the centerline on Route 43 and partially landed in a deep ditch.
Hope Norton, 21, of Farmington was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital, Franklin County Deputy Police Chief Shane Cote said Friday.
She was later transferred to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, an FMH spokeswoman said. No information was available on her condition Friday night.
The deputy said Norton was driving a 2008 Hyundai sedan toward Industry at about 2:30 a.m. when it crossed the centerline and she overcorrected, crossing back to the right lane. The car ended up partially in a deep ditch, he said.
The car was damaged.
Officers Brandon Sholan and Darin Gilbert responded.
The accident remains under investigation.
