WOOLWICH — A fire engulfed a home in Woolwich on Monday morning.

Neighbors say the blaze on Hall Road off Route 1 started before 5 a.m. Monday.

The residents are believed to have escaped.

Several local fire departments responded to assist Woolwich fire fighters, including units from Bath and Brunswick. The Sagadahoc Bridge that connects Woolwich and Bath via Route 1 was temporarily closed.
