
An accident involving an SUV and a motorcycle partially shut down the intersection of Main and Lincoln streets for several hours Saturday afternoon. A 1999 Harley-Davidson driven by Edward Major, 53, of Lewiston collided with a 2006 Toyota Highlander driven by Annette Douglass, 53, of Mechanic Falls at 3:55 p.m. At the time of the crash, Major was unconcious and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Douglass remained on the scene with minor injuries. As of Sunday evening, Major remained in the hospital in stable conditon, according to Lewiston Police Lt. David St. Pierre.
