BUCKFIELD — Buckfield netted four goals in the first half and two in the second to shut out Pine Tree Academy 6-0 on Monday in Class D boys’ soccer action.
Victor Verrill paced Buckfield (9-3-1) with two goals, followed by a goal each from Elijah Chasse, Dylan Harvey, Shane St. Pierre and Caleb Hill. Harvey added two assists, and Hill and Chasse assisted on a goal each.
Breakers (7-6) goalkeeper Liam Knowles saved eight shots, while Rick Kraske saved three shots and Brandon Donahue two for Buckfield.
Greely 1, Gray-New Gloucester 0
CUMBERLAND — Aiden Smith beat two defenders and scored with 7:35 remaining to lift the Rangers (7-5-2) to a 1-0 boys’ soccer victory over Gray-New Gloucester (6-6-2) on Monday.
Smith took a centering pass from Silas Cunningham and fired a low shot to the far post for the score.
Brannon Gilbert made nine saves for the Patriots. Schuyler Wetmore had four for Greely.
Cape Elizabeth 5, Poland 0
POLAND — John O’Connor’s two goals and one assist led Cape Elizabeth (6-4-3) past the Knights (2-12) on Monday.
Max Ludington added two goals for the Capers, and Nick Aceto scored the other one.
