1935 – 2018

LEWISTON – Marcella Elise Plourde Bourgoin, 83, died at home, in Lewiston, Oct. 10, 2018, at home with her loving daughter by her side.

She was born on June 1, 1935, in St. Quentin, New Brunswick, Canada, one of 12 children born to parents Camille and Angelina (Cyr) Plourde.

She was married to the late Donat H. Bourgoin, and they had one daughter, whom they raised in Madawaska, Maine. She moved to Lewiston 13 years ago.

Marcella was a very strong and loving soul, who always demonstrated such strength and tenacity throughout her medical adversity. She won many awards for all her hours of volunteering. She loved to knit and crochet mittens, washcloths, and “pichous”. She also loved reading and playing cards. Her greatest love was her family. They were her world, and she especially adored and cherished her grandchildren. She was so proud of everything they did and went to great lengths to attend all their activities and shows. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.  She was a devote Catholic and attended Holy Family Church.
