A tree took down power, cable and phone lines on Black Road in Wilton during high winds Tuesday morning. Trees and lines started falling at about 2:48 a.m., Wilton Deputy Rescue Chief Tom Doak said. A tree fell across Black Road in Wilton on Tuesday morning knocking down power, telephone and cable lines and closing a portion of the road, Wilton Deputy Rescue Chief Tom Doak said. It was just one of the areas hit hard during high winds. A power outage also kept Jay Town Office closed Tuesday morning but it opened later in the day when power was restored, Jay Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere said. (Donna M. Perry/Sun Journal)
