Avis P. Leino

1936 – 2018

NORWAY – Avis P. Leino, 82, of West Paris, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018 at the Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.
She was born on March 6, 1936, in Livermore, the daughter of Amos and Gladys T. (Goding) Pulkkinen and ttended local schools.
On Oct. 31, 1953, she married, Eugene Leino and they made their home in Harrison for many years.
She worked at various places locally including, Andrews Nursing Home, Cornwall Manufacturing, CB Cummings and later driving for Community Concepts.
Avis enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and especially taking long drives just to see what she could see.
She is survived by five children, Donald Leino and his wife, Joan of Jackson, Ione Dow and her husband, Walter of Norway, Paul Leino of Waterford, Gail Benett and her husband, Bob of Minot, and Paula Leino and her companion, Ben Howard of Harrison; four grandchildren, Shane Leino, Anita McFadden, Henry Foster, Jr., and Cole Bennett; several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene on Sept. 10, 2004; a son, Stephen Leino; a sister, Sally Pulkkinen.
Her family would like to especially thank the staff of Norway Rehab and Stephens Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Avis during her time with them.
