LEWISTON — Community Credit Union this year has presented three local food pantries with $250 to help their efforts in ending hunger in Maine.
They include Leeds Food Pantry, Poland Community Food Pantry and High Street Food Pantry in Auburn.
Community Credit Union participates in the Maine Credit Union League’s Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. More than $8 million has been raised since 1990. At the end of each year, 100 percent of the money raised by each participating credit union is given back to that credit union to be distributed to hunger organizations in their community.
In 2017, participating credit unions raised a record total of more than $740,000 for the Ending Hunger Campaign.
Community Credit Union is a member-owned, full-service financial institution that has been serving its members and the community since 1945. It has branches at 144 Pine St., Lewiston; 40 Stanley St., Auburn, and 1025 Auburn Road, Turner. For more information, log onto www.communitycreditunion.com.
