Dance, concert to benefit steeple repair fund

RUMFORD — The Rumford Point Church will hold a major fundraiser with live music and dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Rumford Center Meeting House on Route 2. It is to raise money for the church’s steeple repair fund. Entertainment will be western Maine band The Cobblestones. This event is a dance and concert in one. In addition to live music, there will be a 50-50, door prizes, Maine basket raffle, photo quilt raffle/drawing and a food sale. Admission is $10 per person.

Whitman Memorial Library to host talk

BRYANT POND — Doris Ray will present a program about her visit to England at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Whitman Memorial Library. Join Ray as she shares memories and adventures from her travels to this country full of lore and legend. Get a list of books, movies and websites that can help plan an escape to England. The program is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be served.
