BANGOR — Jack Bourassa netted the game-winning goal three minutes into overtime as Bangor took a 2-1 triumph over Edward Little in a Class A North boys’ soccer quarterfinal Tuesday at Husson University.
The Rams’ overtime goal came on a free kick that was deflected into the net. Connor O’Brien led off the scoring for Bangor with a drive outside the 18-yard box in the opening half.
Omar Omar tied the game on a bouncing ball off a corner with 20 minutes remaining in regulation for Edward Little.
Girls’ soccer
NYA 3, Rangeley 0
NORTH YARMOUTH — Serena Mower and Riley McIntyre scored a minute apart early in the second half as the second-seeded Panthers (11-3-1) held on beat the seventh-seeded Lakers (6-6-2) in a Class D South quarterfinal Tuesday.
Natalie Farrell assisted on both goals to help North Yarmouth take a 2-0 lead. Mower scored again in the 64th minute off an assist from McIntyre to make it 3-0.
Winney LaRochelle finished with eight saves for Rangeley. Carly Downey had two for North Yarmouth.
The Panthers hosts the winner of Searsport and Greenville on Friday.
Women’s soccer
Colby 1, Bates 0
LEWISTON — Sarah Lofstrom slotted home a penalty kick 6:25 into overtime, lifting Colby (7-6-1, 3-6-1 NESCAC) over the Bobcats (5-10, 0-10) on Tuesday.
Shannon Gray made five stops for the Mules. Katherine Nuckols had six for Bates.
