DIXFIELD — Dixfield Recreation Cheerleading has received $1,000 for choreography and music licenses through U.S. Cellular’s Community Connections.
The program provides sponsorship support to help youth groups pay for uniforms, equipment, travel and other expenses.
Dixfield Recreation Cheerleading signed up with the program online and rallied families, friends and supporters to complete online activities that earned them the money.
“Organizations like Dixfield Recreation Cheerleading provide valuable experiences for our local youth, and we are happy to support them through this program,” Matt Kasper, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in New England, said. “It’s also great to see our fellow community members rally around this group to help them have a positive impact in Dixfield.”
This is the fourth consecutive year of the Community Connections program and U.S. Cellular has awarded $1.3 million to more than 2,800 groups, including sports teams, science, technology, engineering and math programs, marching bands and dance squads.
