Church moves location of winter services
PHILLIPS — The Phillips Community Church will move services for the winter to the Phillips Community House, 31 Main St., beginning Sunday, Oct. 28. Service time remains the same, at 10:45 a.m.
Parish to host concert fundraiser
RUMFORD — The Parish of the Holy Savior Church Hall will host a concert by Peter Koch and Andy St.Pierre at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.
The concert is a fundraiser for the people of Haiti. All proceeds will go to Orella Poirier’s mission. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and younger.
Texas Hold ’em game at AL Post
LOCKE MILLS — Jackson-Silver American Legion Post 68 will host a Texas Hold ’em game Saturday, Nov. 3. Doors open at 11 a.m., games begin at 1 p.m. Buy-in is $50 and there will be 50/50, pull tabs, meals and beverages available.
Elmwood Cemetery Association to meet
OTISFIELD — The annual meeting of the Elmwood Cemetery Association will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in the East Otisfield Baptist Church, 161 Rayville Road.
Friends of Black Mountain to hold auction
RUMFORD — Friends of Black Mountain presents the sixth annual Live Auction to benefit Black Mountain of Maine on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 39 Glover Road.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m., auction begins at 6. Light fare will be provided from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. by Last Run Pub, open and in full gear.

Church to hold steeple fundraiser
RUMFORD — Rumford Point Church will hold a fundraiser with live music and dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Rumford Center Meeting House on Route 2.
Proceeds will benefit the church’s steeple repair fund. Entertainment will be The Cobblestones from western Maine. In addition to live music, there will be a 50/50, door prizes, Maine basket raffle, photo quilt raffle and food sale.
Admission is $10 per person.
Socrates Cafe to hold discussion
BRIDGTON — Socrates Cafe will meet Monday, Nov. 5, at the Bridgton Community Center.
From 6:15 to 6:30 will be meet and greet; from 6:30 to 8:30 will be a discussion titled “Are Our Kids Getting A Raw Deal?” Moderator will be Larry Flaherty. Light refreshments will be provided.

SCORE offers small business workshop
NORWAY — SCORE Oxford Hills will hold a small business marketing workshop from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Town Office at 19 Danforth St.
The workshop is titled Engaging Customers with Your Values and Your Story. It’s designed to teach new ways to engage potential customers. Attendees can can learn ways to discover their values, identify their brand’s personality and develop a story for their business.

Veterans Remembrance program to meet
HARRISON — The Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the museum for a veterans remembrance program. All are welcome. On Veterans Day, people are asked to think about those who fought for freedom and those who are serving today and thank them.
Texas Hold ’em at Legion Hall
OXFORD — The Oxford American Legion, 169 King St., will host Texas Hold ’em on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Doors open noon, table draw is at 12:45 p.m. and the game starts at 1. Buy-in is $55, $5 optional for high hand play. Pull tabs, 50/50 and cash payouts. Food will be available.

RUMFORD — Fraternal Order of Eagles will host Texas hold ’em poker tournaments on the second Thursday of each month.
