I am excited for the opportunity to vote for Jim Wilfong as a state Senate candidate to represent western Maine. He has an extensive background as a Marine, adjunct instructor at the University of Southern Maine, business and legislative experience.

Wilfong was a Maine legislator with many accomplishments at a time when there was a divided Legislature and an independent governor, but he knew how to work with all to get results. He has a history of protecting the environment, expanding educational opportunities and helping small businesses.

He went on to start a business of bringing Atomic skis to America and then worked for three presidents on international trade and small business development. He was honored in 2005 by the Small Business Administration as Maine Veterans Advocate of the Year and also chaired the Maine SBA Advisory Council.

I hope others will join me in voting for Jim Wilfong on Nov. 6.
