Rotary to host breakfast and presentation

LEWISTON — The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Club fwill hold a breakfast and presentation about Portland Community Squash at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, given by Barrett Takesian.

Takesian, of Southwest Harbor, opened the doors to the country’s first public squash and education center in Portland. The program is now staffed by teachers, coaches and wellness staff, working with hundreds of Portland students and adults. 

The meeting is at the UMC, 439 Park Ave. Cost for breakfast is $10.

Lewiston Democrats hold monthly meeting

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Democrats will hold their monthly meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Lewiston Armory. All are welcome to attend. 

Toy drive at the Auburn Mall

AUBURN — The Rambuncious Red Hatters & Sisters along with the Salvation Army will be holding their annual toy drive from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16.

Folks are welcome to bring an unwrapped toy to place under the tree. There will be music and a sing-along, baskets to raffle and a 50/50. Half the proceeds go to the Salvation Army.

Immigration Officer drop-in hours

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library will host Immigration Services Officers from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7.

The officers will be holding a free open office session for individuals from the community with any questions about the United States immigration process. Officers will be available in a second-floor room for one-on-one meetings. Drop-ins are welcome; no appointments are necessary.

Services provided include customer inquiries, case status for pending applications, and general information about naturalization, citizenship, permanent residence and asylum/refugee information.
