LEWISTON — The Auburn Exchange Club will be hosting a free Veterans Luncheon at the Green Ladle at noon Friday, Nov. 9.

All active duty and veterans are invited and may bring a guest. The program features a buffet-style meal provided by the students and the staff of the culinary school. In addition to the lunch, there will be a guest speaker and other surprises.

LITCHFIELD — The Rural Community Action Ministry will hold its fourth annual Empty Bowls Supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Litchfield Sportsmen’s Club, 2261 Hallowell Road.

Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12, $25 per family up to five (max: three bowls) for a pottery bowl, soup, salad, bread, drinks and desserts.

There will be a silent auction of pottery items and music by guitarist Stan Davis. This event is to help raise awareness and funding for food insecurity in 13 towns in the Lewiston-Auburn region.

NORRIDGEWOCK — The Lebanon Masonic Lodge will be having a public ham supper and pie auction from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 251 Mercer Road.

MEXICO — A public supper will be served at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “green church”), 163 Main St. 

The menu consists of roast turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, carrots, cranberry sauce and homemade rolls and pies. Following the meal an auction of whole pies to take home will be held.

NEW SHARON — A baked ham public dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Franklin Lodge 123, 46 Mercer Road (Route 2).

Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Proceeds go to the Books For Bikes program, which supports literacy at the Cape Cod Hill School.

WILTON — The First Congregational Church, UCC, 386 Main St.,  will hold a harvest supper at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, followed by a special worship service for veterans.

The meal will consist of baked ham, rolls, casseroles, veggies and pie for dessert. 

Both the dinner and service are open to the public. There is no charge for the meal; donations are accepted.

BRIDGTON — The volunteers of the Bridgton Community Center will be hosting our 12th annual complimentary (free) Veterans Day Dinner to be held at noon Monday, Nov. 12, at the dining hall of Oriental Masonic Lodge, Route 117, Harrison Road.

WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris will hold its annual Chicken Pie Supper at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, with a second seating around 6:30 p.m.  The menu includes the famous homemade chicken pies with all the fixings, dessert pies and a choice of beverages.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for several items, from a handmade Afghan to a movie “date” night basket. Tickets are $1 each, a book of six for $5. The winners will be announced that evening and do not have to be present to win.

Tickets for the supper go on sale at the door starting at 4:30 p.m. The prices for the supper are $10 for ages 13 and over, $5 for ages 5-12, free for age 4 and under.
