PHILLIPS — A fundraiser is underway by the Phillips Conservation Commission to clean and repair the clock on the Congregational Church at Main and Pleasant streets.
The 1928 Seth Thomas was obtained by the Balzer Family Clock Works of Freeport in 1990. Mechanical and other problems with the timepiece since have used up all but $200 in the maintenance account set up for that purpose. Its estimated repairs will be $1,500.
Any extra money will be put into the account.
Donations may be sent to the Phillips Conservation Commission, Attn. Town Clock, P.O. Box 365, Phillips, ME 04966.

The Phillips Conservation Commission started a fundraiser to raise money to clean and repair the town clock, which is part of the Congregational Church.
