MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — Middlebury scored three goals in the second half to beat the University of Maine at Farmington in the first round of the NCAA DIII women’s soccer tournament on Saturday.

McKenna Brodeur scored early in the second half for UMF (16-1-2) to tie the game at 1-1. It was her 22nd goal of the season. Lydia Roy assisted on the goal.

Middlebury (8-13) took back the lead 13 minutes later on a goal by Olivia Miller, and Eliza Van Voorhis followed with anther score to make it 3-1. Eliza Robinson and Abigail Blyler also scored for the Panthers

Abigail Blyler, Olivia Miller, Eliza Von Voorhis and Eliza Robinson all scored for Middlebury.

Callie Hammer made 20 saves in goal for the Beavers, who only put two shots on-goal against Panthers keeper Urusula Alwang.
