Mary E. Nurmi
1941 – 2018
NORWAY – Mary E. Nurmi, 77, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 at Norway Center for Health and Rehab. She was born on Aug. 3, 1941, to Wallace and Ella Russell. She attended schools in West Paris. Mary worked part time at the local shoe shop and was also a housekeeper at a motel and worked at a restaurant. She was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church. She loved gardening and yard saling with her husband.
Mary is survived by her son, Stanley Nurmi Jr. of West Paris; daughter, Lisa Ann Nurmi of South Paris; two sisters, Beverly Knight and Maxine Corriveau. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Nurmi Sr.; brother, Edwin Russell; sisters, Winona Corriveau, Joan Brown and Judy Billings as well as a half-brother, Irving Herrick and half-sister, Winnifred Faulkner.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday Nov. 15, at 2 p.m., at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Route 26, South Paris.
