LIVERMORE — The Board of Selectpersons on Tuesday, Nov. 13 accepted a bid for a tax-acquired property and heard from newly elected House District 75 Rep. Joshua Morris.

Constance Gregory and David McNaught submitted a $5,000 offer for the Norton Road property previously owned by Mary Crocker. It was the only bid in the second attempt to sell the property.

In July, the town received an offer of $11,200 from Dennis Mancine and one for $6,200 from Anthony and Teresa DeMillo. Mancine’s bid was accepted, but he withdrew it over a potential discrepancy between the tax maps and an abutting landowner’s description of his property lines.

The DeMillos were no longer interested in the property and the property was rebid.

In other business Joshua Morris of Turner, who will represent the southern part of Livermore, said he had spoken with Town Clerk Renda Guild. There are concerns with the way the lines are drawn for House Districts. Livermore is split among two districts.

“I intend to represent the whole town of Livermore. If someone calls with a concern I will help them out with it. I’m sure Rep. (Tina) Riley (in House District 74) feels the same way,” Morris said.

Morris’ district also includes Leeds and Turner, besides part of Livermore.

Riley’s includes the northern area of Livermore, plus her hometown of Jay and Livermore Falls.

Morris said he plans to get together with the Secretary of State and work to settle where the district lines are. There was some confusion on Election Day as to which district residents were in.

“It certainly doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to split small, rural towns. Livermore has one of the lowest population densities in Androscoggin County. Towns this small shouldn’t be split, Morris said.

“At least get the lines clear so people will know where or who to vote for in 2020,” he said.
