NORWAY — The First Universalist Church of Norway, 479 Main St., has announced its December worship services. Sunday services are at 11 a.m. with social hour following. Child care is available.
Dec. 2: The Rev. Fayre Stephenson will present “Moments of Peace.” In the Christian tradition, this is the first Sunday of Advent, a time of expectation. Stephenson will explore sources of inner peace.
Dec. 9: Fred Jordan will present “Civility: Healing, Peace, and Unity.” Stress that is generated in a person adversely affects their physical, mental and spiritual health. This service will take a look at people’s common humanity and how concerned individuals can work toward solutions.
Dec. 16: Stephenson will present “Goodwill to All.” The service will feature Maya Angelou’s Christmas poem, “Amazing Peace.” The service will focus on a renewed hope for peace.
Dec. 23: Music Director Heather Pierson will lead a music-filled celebration of the season. She is a singer, songwriter and musician.
Dec. 24: The traditional Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m., led by Stephenson, and feature readings and carols. There will be music and participation from the congregation. Everyone is welcome.
Dec. 30: Poetry Sunday will offer members and friends an opportunity to bring a favorite poem to share and ring out the old year.
