AUBURN – Daisy R. (Nichols) Bowen, 59, of Buckfield, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at the Auburn Hospice House, surrounded by her faith and family. She was the wife of George L. Bowen.

Daisy was born in Belfast, on Sept. 26, 1959, the daughter of the late Hillis W. Nichols and Sandra C. (Walker) Nichols. She grew up in Belfast, attending local area schools and graduated from Belfast High School in 1977. She and George were married on June 28, 1980.

She worked for Mathews Brothers Window Manufacturing, where she and her husband met. After her marriage she worked at Dori Shoe in Lewiston until the birth of her first child, Michelle. After a stint where she stayed home and raised her children she earned her CNA certificate and worked as a CNA for 15 years.

Daisy was a born again Christian and was very devoted to her faith, God and her family. She adored her children and the challenges and care associated with taking in folks and helping them to be self-sufficient. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, especially Spades and camping; one of her favorite spots was Crazy Horse Family Campground in Littleton, N.H.

Besides her husband, George and mother, Sandra, she is survived by daughters, Priscilla Boudreau, Michelle Bowen, Natalie Arris and Erica Newell. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Brendan, Dominque, Caleb, Jerzey, Jordan, Dakota, Brooke and Italia; as well as her siblings, Debbie, Arlene, Nancy, Lesley and Wayne. She was also the sister of the late Karen DeMerchant.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the East Hebron Baptist Church, 215 Bryant Road, Hebron. Burial will be held at a later date.
