MONMOUTH – Randall “Skippy” Bringhurst, 55, of Monmouth, passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Tibbetts) Bringhurst and was born in Newport, R.I., on May 26, 1963. He spent his younger years living in Rhode Island and his teenage years in Connecticut.

Because of his love for all things pertaining to gardening and dairy cattle, he chose to attend a vocational agriculture (VOAG) school during his high school years. After meeting his companion, Joanie, in New York, they relocated to her hometown in Maine. Throughout his many years of employment, he enjoyed working as a landscaping technician at Monmouth Cemetery the most.

He enjoyed many hobbies, including smoking meats and cheeses, making maple syrup and mead, and planting gardens from seedlings to harvest. In typical Randy fashion, his love for his hobbies caused him to master each and every one, and in the process, he blessed others with the fruits of his labors.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Rodney Bringhurst. He is survived by his companion, Joan Bragg Desmond; sons, Ryan (Erin) Bringhurst of Pennsylvania, Jacob Desmond of Auburn, Kevin (companion, Elizabeth O’Neal) Desmond of Gorham, and daughter, Leslieane (Bethany) Beaulieu of Minot. He is also survived by five siblings, Bob Bringhurst of Rhode Island, Roger (Cathy) Bringhurst of Massachusetts, Rick (Kelly) Bringhurst of Rhode Island, Denice (Mark) Stoughton of Connecticut, Russ Bringhurst of Virginia; and five grandchildren, all of Pennsylvania.

Services will be held for all who knew and loved him on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at the North Monmouth Community Church, 151 North Main St., Monmouth. Arrangements are being handled by BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main Street, Monmouth. Messages of condolences can be sent to www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
