NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine has announced its December calendar. The center is at 199 Main St. in the Stephens Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic building. 

Celebration of Life — 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Stephens Memorial Hospital. The Oncology Program at the hospital will host the annual Celebration of Life. Family and friends are invited to join them as they celebrate and remember those who have passed on. For more information, call 207-744-6117.

Men’s Rally Group — 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the center. Vance Jordan and Nel Bernard facilitate this time for men and their caregivers to connect with others who are also impacted by cancer. Bernard will offer a chair massage to those interested. Yoga Warriors — 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 5, 12 and 19, at Posabilities, 15 Tannery St. This free, gentle yoga class helps support healthy living for individuals facing the challenges of cancer through gentle movement and breathing, supportive restorative yoga postures, and guided meditation and relaxation. Banding Together To Restore — 9 to 10 a.m. Thursdays, Dec. 6, 13 and 20 (note new day and time), at Richard Bader Physical Therapy, 176 Main St. This exercise program, led by Lori Britting, is focused on regaining motion and strength through guided instruction using stretching and exercise bands. Each participant will be encouraged to work within their abilities that will safely gain their desired goals. Preregistration is encouraged. Yoga for Wellness — 8 to 9 a.m. Fridays, Dec. 7, 14 and 21, at the center. Either Kat Larsen or Sherri will teach the class, which will include breathing, movement and relaxing meditation while seated or standing. More information will be available on the center’s website.

Chair Yoga — 3 to 4 p.m. Fridays, Dec. 7 and 14, at the center. Sherri will lead the class, which will include breathing, movement and relaxing meditation while seated or standing.

Self-Reflexology — 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at the center. Karen Tibbetts will demonstrate how applying pressure to reflex points may help improve circulation and reduce body stress.

Stampin’ Up — 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 (note new day and time), at the center. Kathy will provide materials and instruction to make a variety of cards. It is fun and easy to do.

Fun with Crafts — 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the center. Sherri and other volunteers will bring in a different project for attendees each week. Learn something new or folks can bring a project they are working on to share.

Beading Project — 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 (note new day and time), at Lively Accents, 310 Main Street, Norway Cathy always has a fun project for us to make. Join us and learn how to make something with beads.

Origami Box — 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the center Folks will make an origami box with Nancy Hohman, perfect for putting that special gift in just in time for the holidays. Materials will be provided.

Christmas Crafts — 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the center. Spend the entire day or stop in to make one item for the holidays. Materials will be provided. Folks who have something to share may call 207-890-0329.

Drop-in hours at the center are from 3 to 6 p.m.  Tuesdays (winter hours), and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Volunteers are available to provide comfort items such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or look for resources. Activities such as coloring, knitting and games are available at all times.

Center hours are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.
