BRUNSWICK — The Theater Project, 14 School St., will kick off the holiday season with “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” adapted from the book by Barbara Robinson and directed by Karin Baard.
The story follows the antics of the six misfit Herdman kids who go to church for the first time, and are then — to the protests of many — given roles in the Sunday school Christmas play. The rehearsal process and town gossip that ensues is nothing short of rollicking, side-splitting comedy, with a little redemption and the true meaning of Christmas thrown in.
“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” will be onstage at The Theater Project from Dec. 7-16. Performance times are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, $10 for children 12 and younger; under age 2 are free as long as they sit on a patron’s lap. Top-level seating in the theater is always Pay-What-You-Want.
Tickets are available anytime at theaterproject.com or by calling the box office at 207-729-8584.
