AUBURN – Joanne Muriel Roberts, 82, passed away peacefully at Androscoggin Hospice House, with her loving family by her side, on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018. She was the wife of James Roberts of Auburn.
She was born in Epping, N.H., May 9, 1936, the daughter of the late, Alcide Briand and Rose Alba Briand.
On Sept. 4, 1954, she married James R. Roberts. Together, they raised three daughters, Suzanne M. Fyfe, Marcie A. Hird and Robyn L. Yarnevich, all of Auburn, and a son, John A. Roberts, now of Raleigh, N.C. In addition, she leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Scott Fyfe, Jennifer Hamilton, Jacob and Dylan Roberts, Gregory, Callie and Shawn Hird, Matthew, Alexander, Noah, Caleb and Sage Yarnevich. Seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brooklynn, Cayden, Hadleigh, Jovelyn, Pearson and Parker; one great-great-grandson, Christopher.
Muriel, a devoted wife to her husband of 64 years, dedicated her life to caring for and raising her four children and grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on December 22, 2018, at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner Street, Auburn.
The service begins at 1 p.m. Following the service there will be a reception to celebrate her life at Martindale Country Club, 527 Beech Hill Road, Auburn.
