LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has announced its December programming.
All morning programs are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted. The center will be closed for the hoidays Monday, Dec. 24-Tuesday, Jan. 1.
Women’s Healing Arts Circle — Thursday, Dec. 6.The center will host Dr. Maryam Mermay as she leads a circle intended for women seeking to heal any source of grief through a lifegiving and playful connection with the arts.
Peasant Pantry Cafe — Thursday, Dec. 13, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Peasant Pantry Cafe features one-pot sustainable meals from different countries. This month, the dish is a French-Canadian dish called Tourtier, or meat pie. The meal is open to the public at no charge; donations are welcome and are shared among the women who prepare the meal.
Art Van — Wednesdays, Dec. 12 and 19. Art Van is now coming to the center twice a month. Join the women at the center for healing art projects.
Holiday Party — Friday, Dec. 14. The center will host a brunch. Celebrate the holidays with food and caroling. Folks are wlecome to contribute a dish.
Bingo — Tuesday, Dec. 18.
December Birthday Celebration — Wednesday, Dec. 19, 12:30 p.m. December birthdays will be celebrated.
Clothing Give Away — Thursday, Dec. 20.
A full calendar of events and descriptions of support groups is available at www.wisdomswomen.org. The center’s hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. All women are welcome; programs are offered free and no appointments are needed. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily and the center has a shower.
Donations can be written to The Center for Wisdom’s Women at P.O. Box 1016, Lewiston, ME 04243. The center can always use new hygiene products, specifically shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes and dental floss.
