CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Blanca Millan scored 21 points and made seven steals and the University of Maine women’s basketball team matched a school record with 16 3-pointers in an 85-73 road win over North Carolina on Sunday.
Blanca Millan scored 21 points with seven steals and the Black Bears (5-2) matched a school-record with 16 3-pointers en route to a win over the Tar Heels (5-4) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Tanesha Sutton added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Black Bears (5-2), and Kelly Fogarty came off the bench to score all 12 of her points in the first half on four 3-pointers. Two of Fogarty’s 3s came during a 22-7 run to close the second quarter for Maine as it went into halftime with a 44-32 lead.
Dor Saar chipped in with 15 points and nine assists, while Parise Rossignol added 14, hitting four 3s.
