LEWISTON – Therese Muriell Cote (Duchette), 88, died on Dec. 1, 2018, in Lewiston. She passed gracefully with her loving family at her side after a prolonged illness.

Therese was born in Lewiston, on Jan. 6, 1930, and raised as a devout Catholic. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and playing with her cat. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family every chance she could whether it was camping, shopping, or just going for a ride and visiting friends.

Her strong will and determination were shown through her years of dedication to both Bates Mill, and Knapp shoe.  This includes wille many years after her husband, William Emile Cote passed away in June of 1975. Her love to her husband proved eternal, with her finger adorned by their wedding ring to this day.

Therese was also predeceased by her beloved son, Robert R. Cote (whose picture she sang to every night); parents, Marianna (Leclair) Duchette and Ludger Duchette; as well as her sisters, Shirley Mailloux, Rita Lavoi, Lucienne Charbonneau, Germaine Cloutier, Corona Lamontagne, Elsie Morin, Marie Rose Houle, Olivette Nadeau, Alfreda Morency, Jeanette Fontaine; and her brother, Ronaldo Duchette. She is survived by her sister, Irene Boilard; her daughter, Janice White; grandchildren, Becky Mills and Larry White. Becky and Larry also blessed their memere with four great-grandchildren, Leah Pottle, Tyler Mills, Amber White,  and Riley Mills. Baby Pottle, due in March, would have been her great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at The Fortin Group, 70 Horton St. Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul upper church. A committal service will follow at St. Peters Cemetery Lewiston.
