The staff at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris as part of their Community Involvement Committee recently took up a collection of mittens for the school children at the Agnes Gray Elementary School in West Paris. The school has expressed an ongoing need for mittens (as well as other warm clothing like hats and scarves) for children attending the school who are in need of these for the winter. Scores of mittens, hats and scarves were donated by the staff, as well as some hand-knit items made by residents. Pictured from left are Tanya Cooper, Marge Stickney, Steve Moore and Kristen Kennett of the Maine Veterans’ Home.
