James Hill of 1190 Lisbon St. appeared with his attorney in 8th District Court where he pleaded not guilty to eight charges stemming from the incident, including eluding an officer, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
A judge set bail at $750 cash. Conditions of his release include no use or possession of illegal drugs, for which he is subject to random search and testing.
Police said Hill was driving a black 2007 Audi on Maple Street when police attempted to stop him, but he continued onto Lisbon Street before pulling into a driveway.
Hill requested to be taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, where he remained for several hours.
He is due back in court on Feb. 22.
