HORSEHEADS, N.Y. – Robert R. Legendre, 83, passed away Dec. 15, 2018, at the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born Dec. 17, 1934, in Auburn, Maine, the son of Joseph and Alice (Bergeron) Legendre.
Robert graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn. He owned Lewiston Brassworks Inc., in Lewiston, until his retirement. He lived a life filled with faith, love, charity and humor. He was very active with Saint Patrick’s Church Choir in Lewiston, singing at countless masses, weddings, and funerals.
He spent his twilight years in Corning, N.Y. enjoying time with his grandchildren, keeping up on New England sports teams, attending the Symphony of the Southern Finger Lakes, and time with friends at Bethany Courtyards.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Legendre, son-in-law, James Webb, grandsons, Luke and Nathan, his sister Rose Marie Marcotte, and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Irene E. (Leclerc) Legendre and his sister Louise Tardif.
A Memorial service will be held at Bethany Courtyards in Horseheads on Saturday Dec. 22 at 2:00 pm. There will be no calling hours.
