The community Christmas tree has already been placed in Union Square, in front of the B. Peck Co. store and on Christmas Eve at 10:30 the Community Chorus will gather around the brilliantly lighted tree and sing the songs best suited to the occasion. There is no limit to the numbers of this Community Chorus. The two cities are invited to join in whether they have previously sung with the chorus or not and help to spread the holiday spirit. This is the first community Christmas tree Lewiston has had, although it has proved a great success in other cities in uniting different elements of the city and promoting the community spirit.

The featured speaker will be Kathleen Allan, a Unitarian Universalist community minister who has been involved with groups of women exploring their creativity in experiential workshops. Currently a substance abuse counselor at Mercy Hospital, Portland, she has a special interest in helping women uncover their creativity for use in healing, play, and pleasure.
