AUBURN – Nellie N. Roberts, 84, of Mechanic Falls, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at the Hospice House. She was born in Mechanic Falls on Feb.12, 1934, the daughter of Basil and Nellie N. Peabody Holmes. She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School and married Edgar Roberts Sr., in 1952. Nellie was a very caring and giving mother to all of her family as well as being a hardworker. She worked at Pineland Hospital, Marcal Paper Mill and for years at the John F. Murphy Home in Mechanic Falls. For the last 26 years she had a very caring, compassionate man in her life that she adored, Minard Roberts Jr. He was the love of her life. Nellie loved life and loved traveling with Minard and camping, but mostly just going for a ride every day if she could. She enjoyed going out to eat and reading. Nellie was a member of the Grange in Oxford for many years. She is survived by her children, Eddie Roberts Jr., Yvonne Bragdon, Gary Roberts and wife Peggy, Glenn Roberts and Gail Weaver; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sheila Stimson and Roxie Strout; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Lachance; and her  sons, Reginald Roberts and Christopher Roberts. 

Family and friends may attend visitation on Thursday, Dec.  27 from 6-8 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 26 W. Dwinal St., Mechanic Falls.
