AUBURN – Brenda Lou McLafferty Manchester, of Mechanic Falls, passed away on Dec. 17, 2018. She was born in Rangeley, on Oct. 1, 1939, to Joseph and Lurlene McLafferty.She went to Rangeley High School and Lasell College. While working at her family’s pharmacy, she met her future husband, Walter Manchester, who passed away in 2004. They were married in June of 1959, and she is survived by their four children, Joanne Manchester, Stephen Manchester, Scott Manchester and Rhonda Lausier, and Amy Manchester-Paine and Harold Paine; grandchildren, Rebecca Manchester, Stephen Manchester II, Lee-Anna and her wife, Kayla Hopper-Rutter, Macy Manchester and Joey Gallant, Myriah Lausier, Samantha Paine and Phillip Russell, and Nicholas and Lauren Paine; great-grandchildren, Ally Manchester, Greyson Gallant, Kameron Russell, Lola and Layla Paine. In addition, she is also survived by her younger sister, Susan McLafferty Coombs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two older brothers, Joey and Jamie McLafferty.
She had been a preschool teacher for over twenty-five years. Since retirement, she enjoyed doing crafts, being very active on Facebook, and caring for the family pets.
Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 26 W. Dwinal St., Mechanic Falls.
