Through the splendid co-operation of the State Highway commission, Auburn will receive $200 more for road construction in the coming year than the letter of the law allows. The mathematics involved in computing this sum is somewhat complicated, but it is verified that the city is fairly entitled to the money. The decision was made after a consultation Thursday between City Manager Otis and Paul Sargent, Chief State Highway Commission, and other engineers of the department. The money which the city appropriated last year for the construction from Haskells Corner to the Poland line was not completed because of not being able to secure labor to get the job done.

Three Auburn snowmobile clubs, the Perkins Ridge Sno Travelers, the Auburn Sno Groomers and the Andy Valley Sno Gypsies joined together to purchase Christmas gifts for children of the families who were victims of numerous fires in Lewiston-Auburn in 1993. The groups were able to help eight families, with a total of 22 children ranging in age from 2 months to 18 years old. The gifts have been given to the United Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross for distribution. Involved in this project were Roger Rioux of the Sno Travelers; Denis Dubois, Sno Groomers; and Jason Lowit, Sno Gypsies.
