BRIDGTON — Police say a Casco man stabbed another man on Christmas morning.
Tyler Loisel, 18, was charged him with burglary and assault, police said. They said he stabbed a man multiple times and fled from the home on Green Street.
“Shocking — I didn’t think anything like this could happen here because it’s a very quiet town,” said neighbor Andrea Stewart, who has known the victim as her neighbor for the past five years.
“At about 8 a.m. Christmas Day (the investigating officer) got a call of a stabbing on Main Street and Green Street,” said Bridgton Police Chief Rick Stillman, who described the investigation as a potential domestic dispute over a relationship.
Police said the victim was stabbed several times but is expected to recover. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
“From what I understand, (the victim was stabbed) in the arm and upper torso. They were fairly minor stab wounds; they weren’t deep stab wounds, but they do require sutures to close,” Stillman said.
Loisel was taken to the Cumberland County Jail. Bail was set at $20,000.
