Headquarters of the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce are to be in the main floor of the Strand Theater building. The committee, appointed by the chamber to arrange for new quarters, signed a three-year lease for this store. The committee included: President George W. Raymond, Henry A. Free, E. A. Mollheron and Secretary Harold V. Wilson of the Chamber of Commerce. It is believed that the new quarters, which are light and airy, will be a great improvement for the store, being on the first floor and easily assessable. Such renovations as are necessary will be made at once and it is expected that the Lewiston Chamber will be in its new quarters within a week or ten days.

Carol and Mike West of Norway celebrated New Year’s Day with their newborn daughter, Ashley, who arrived at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway. The brown-haired girl with blue eyes arrived on the day obstetrician Dr. Warren Hazelton predicted and weighed eight pounds and three ounces. Ashley Marie is “healthy and beautiful,” said her 21-year-old mother, Carol. She “resembles both of us right now,” she said. Mrs. West said she and her husband, 24, had celebrated New Year’s Eve with family and friends in Otisfield, arriving home about 2 a.m. An hour later she began labor and went to the hospital for delivery.
