RUMFORD – Collette P. Wagner, 94, died at her home on Erchles Street in Rumford, Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019.

She was born in Rumford, Maine, on Oct. 23, 1924, the daughter of Thomas and Marie Rose (Thibodeau) Theriault, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, class of 1944.

Collette served as a crossing guard for 11 years and worked as a teacher’s aide for the Rumford School Department for 13 years until her retirement in 1984.

She was a Communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John Church; member of the Daughters of Isabella, Stephens High School Alumni Association, and the  Greater Rumford Area Senior Plus. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and wood finishing and watching the Patriots.

Collette was married in Rumford on May 11, 1947, to William G. Wagner, who passed away July 27, 2000. Survivors include a son, Robert Wagner and wife, Peggy, of Howell, N.J.; two daughters, Gisele Martineau and husband, Steve, of Tolland, Conn., and Andrea Carey and husband, Patrick, of Kennebunk; sisters, Venise Sexton of Mass., and Marcelle Miller and husband, Roger, of Rumford; a brother, Russell Theriault of Rumford; seven grandchildren, Sean, Meghan and Matthew Carey, Karen Wagner Dana and Ryan Wagner, Brian Martineau and Jillian Martineau Kazienko; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted  in the spring. Interment will be in the spring at St. John Cemetery, Rumford. Arrangements are under the care of the MEADER  &  SON  FUNERAL  HOME, CREMATION AND MONUMENT SERVICES,  3 Franklin St., P. O. Box 537, Rumford, Maine.
