BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Andrew Shaw scored 17 of his 22 points in the first half to lead Spruce Mountain to a 62-56 boys’ basketball win over Boothbay on Saturday.

Kayle Stewart added 15 points and Tate Walton 13 for the Phoenix (10-2).

Steve Reny led Boothbay (10-2) with 15 points.

Leavitt 63, Brunswick 46

BRUNSWICK — Leavitt opened a 17-9 lead on Brunswick in the first quarter and went on to defeat the Dragons 63-46 in boys’ basketball on Saturday.

Wyatt Hathaway paced Leavitt (11-0) with 27 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Cole Morin chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Joziah Learned tallied 10 points.

Brunswick (6-5) was led by Noah Cox with 12 points.

Hall-Dale 67, Dirigo 51

DIXFIELD — Ashtyn Abbott scored 23 points to lead the Bulldogs their seventh straight victory, topping MVC rival Dirigo on Saturday.

Alec Byron added 18 points for Hall-Dale (10-1).

Jeremy St. Germain led the Cougars (5-7) with 20 points, while Alex Gorham added 10.

Mountain Valley 76, Mt. Abram 54

SALEM TOWNSHIP — Keegan Davis scored 22 points to lead the Mountain Valley boys’ basketball team to a 76-54 win over Mt. Abram on Saturday.

The Falcons (11-1) trailed the Roadrunners (5-8) by three points at halftime and were ahead 48-44 entering the fourth before pulling away with a 28-point final period.

Casey Cormier added 20 points and Jacob Blanchard ad 17 for Mountain Valley.

Old Orchard Beach 57, St. Dominic 31

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Zach LaPlante scored seven of his 22 points in the third quarter as the Seagulls (5-6) used a 22-11 run to pull away from the Saints (1-10).

Ryan Crockett added 14 points, including 11 in the first half.

Ethan Bosse led St. Dom’s with 19 points.

Telstar 53, Wiscasset 52

BETHEL — Freshman guard Myles Lilly connected on his second free throw with less than four seconds remaining to put Telstar up by four and the Rebels held on for for their first victory of the season, 53-52 over Wiscasset in boys’ basketball action Saturday evening.

Freshman center Brayden Stevens was dominant for the Rebels (1-10), recording a double-double with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Lilly had four field goals and two free throws to provide 10 points for Telstar.

Freshman Matthew Chapman scored a team-leading 18 points for the Wolverines (1-10). Billy Pinkham had three 3-pointers and a free throw for 10 points, including a buzzer-beating three-quarter-court shot to make it only a one-point loss.

Gray-New Gloucester 58, Wells 28

WELLS — Brianna Jordan and Jordan Grant each scored 17 points to lead the Patriots (11-1) over the Warriors (7-4) on Saturday.

Wells led 11-10 after the first quarter, but Gray-New Gloucester outscored the Warriors 48-17 the rest of the way.

Franny Ramsdell scored 10 points for Wells.

Mt. Blue 49, Cony 42

AUGUSTA — Junior point guard Lexi Mittelstadt made 13 of 15 free throws and finished with 20 points to lead Mt. Blue to a 49-42 triumph over Cony in girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Cougars (6-6) were trailing by one with just under four minutes remaining in regulation when they managed to break the press with a couple of fast-break field goals. Mittelstadt made 10 free throws in a row in the second half, while the Mt. Blue squad connected for 12 free throws in the fourth quarter for the difference.

Freshman shooting guard Eva-Marie Stevens added to the Mt. Blue effort with five points, eight rebounds and nine steals.

Julia Reny led the Rams (0-13) with 10 points in the losing effort.

Boys’ hockey

St. Dominic 14, Cony/Monmouth/Hall-Dale 2

HALLOWELL — Dom Chasse scored four goals and added two assists, leading the Saints to victory over the Rams at the Camden National Bank Ice Vault on Saturday.

Will Fletcher scored three goals and Mike Cilley scored twice for St. Doms (6-3). Zack Pelletier, Jacob Lewis, Jeremy Phelan, Noah Pratt and Matt Fletcher (four assists) also had goals.

Reed Hopkins and Michael Boivin scored for Cony (3-8).

Girls’ hockey

Greely/Gray-New Gloucester 8, Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Wells 1

CUMBERLAND — Greely/Gray-New Gloucester scored six goals in the second period en route to a 9-1 win over Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Wells in girls’ hockey on Saturday.

Sawyer Dusch scored two goals and tacked on two assists. Madison Pelletier, Audrey Flynn, Anna Rosenthal, Linnea Koivisto, Leah Walker, Mackenzie Ludwick and Claire Stewart also scored, and Kate Richards and Kerry Roberts each had two assists.

Biddeford’s lone goal came from Jillian Lewis on an assist about Lily Melton.
